# Base Editing

Make changes to previously configured bases

Base editing is helpful if you ever need to make edits to a base you've previously configured. For example, if you want to sync new fields or remove a table.

Syncing must be disabled while making edits to your base.

You can edit both the **Tables** and **Fields**.

* **Tables:** Edit table mappings
* **Fields:** Edit field mappings

You can add or remove mappings using the dropdown and clicking **Save**.

Be careful about deleting a table mapping and then re-adding the same mapping back. ConnectMate will treat this as a brand new mapping and sync over records again.
